Wind Chill Calculator

Calculate the National Weather Service (NWS) wind chill temperature and assess exposure frostbite risks.

How the calculation works

Wind chill estimates perceived cold using air temperature and wind speed within the selected formula’s operating range. It describes heat loss from exposed skin.

Example to check

With the standard US formula, 30°F and a 10 mph wind produce a wind-chill value of roughly 21°F.

Before using the result

Do not use the formula outside its temperature and wind-speed limits. It is not a forecast or a precise safe-exposure timer; wet conditions and individual vulnerability matter.
