How the calculation works
Time arithmetic carries 60 seconds into one minute and 60 minutes into one hour. A clock reading is different from an elapsed duration.
Example to check
Adding 1 hour 45 minutes and 2 hours 30 minutes gives a duration of 4 hours 15 minutes.
Before using the result
Check whether the mode wraps clock readings at midnight or retains durations beyond 24 hours. Decimal hours and hours:minutes notation are not interchangeable.
