Understanding your calculation
Method, example and limitations
How the calculation works
Conception dating estimates a time window from pregnancy or cycle dates. A due-date calculation usually counts gestational age from the last menstrual period, not from conception.
Example to check
In a simplified 28-day cycle, ovulation is often estimated around 14 days after the period begins. This is an illustration, not confirmation of ovulation or conception.
Before using the result
Cycles vary and sperm can survive for several days. Dates cannot prove paternity, diagnose pregnancy or replace clinical dating and ultrasound assessment.
