Understanding your calculation
Method, example and limitations
How the calculation works
Work hours subtract unpaid breaks from the elapsed time between clock-in and clock-out. Confirm how overnight intervals and rounding are handled.
Example to check
From 09:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute unpaid break gives eight paid hours.
Before using the result
An hours total alone does not determine legal overtime or payroll treatment. Employer rules, jurisdiction and rounding conventions can differ.
