Understanding your calculation
Method, example and limitations
How the calculation works
Trip fuel cost combines distance, fuel economy and fuel price. With liters per 100 km, liters needed = distance × consumption ÷ 100.
Example to check
A 300 km trip at 6 L/100 km uses 18 L. At 1.50 per liter, the estimated fuel cost is 27.
Before using the result
Traffic, hills, weather, load and idling change fuel use. Do not combine miles-per-gallon values with liter prices without converting units.
