Understanding your calculation
Method, example and limitations
How the calculation works
Base64 represents bytes using a text alphabet so they can travel through text-oriented systems. Encoding and decoding do not provide encryption.
Example to check
The ASCII text Hello encodes as SGVsbG8= in standard Base64. Decoding it restores the same bytes.
Before using the result
Text decoding depends on the byte encoding, commonly UTF-8. Standard and URL-safe Base64 alphabets differ; never treat encoded secrets as protected.
